Echarate is one of the fourteen districts of the Peruan province la Convenciòn, the town of Echarte, it’s capital, has several point of interest such as its zoo and the Municipal Swimming Pool Complex while the neighbouring regions welcome hundreds of thousands of tourists.

The main objective of the Airport, as well as boosting the area development and increasing services to the population of the province of La Convención is to connect thousands of tourists who come each year to visit the ruins of Machu Picchu.
